How to Use AI Media Studio: Edit Photos, Create Images and Make Videos

A current walkthrough of AI Media Studio: edit a photo with one sentence, create images from text, turn a photo into video, pick a model, and understand credits and plans from $19/month.

AI Media Studio is a web app for editing photos, creating images and making short videos with current AI models. You upload a photo and describe the change in one sentence, or you start from a text prompt. Each result costs credits, and the price depends on the model you pick. This guide walks through the product as it works in October 2026.

What you can do in AI Media Studio

  • Edit a photo. Upload a picture and write what should change: a new background, better light, a removed object, a restored old print, a portrait or a new style.
  • Create images from text. Describe a scene and generate it without a source photo.
  • Turn a photo into video. Animate a still image, or edit it first and then animate the result.
  • Run repeatable workflows. Ready-made flows cover ecommerce product visuals, ad creatives, virtual staging and asset enhancement.
  • Work as a team or through code. Workspaces have member, admin and owner roles. Developers can use the public API, a CLI and an MCP server.

Everything runs in the browser at app.ai-media-studio.com. There is no mobile app or browser extension, and the app is available in 12 languages.

Step 1: Create an account

Sign up with Google, with email and password, or with a magic link sent to your inbox. New accounts start with 0 credits.

Three free edits after sign-up: your own uploaded photos, edited with Muse Image. Everything else needs a paid plan.

Step 2: Edit a photo

The photo editor is the main way to use the studio.

  1. Upload your photo. PNG, JPEG, WebP, GIF, AVIF, HEIC and BMP files up to 10 MB work. Start with the sharpest version you have.
  2. Pick a task or just describe the edit. The studio offers edit, background, cutout, portrait, restore and restyle tasks.
  3. Write a change line and a keep line. For example: "Replace the background with a soft grey studio wall. Keep the face, hair, clothes and pose unchanged." One change per prompt gives more predictable results.
  4. Choose a model and output. Pick the model and aspect ratio and, on Nano Banana models, the resolution: 1K, 2K or 4K.
  5. Compare and refine. Turn on the comparison view to check the result against your original. Look closely at faces, hands, text and edges. If something changed that should not, tighten the keep line or try another model.
  6. Download. Downloads carry no watermark.

Need ideas? The photo editing prompts page groups tested prompts by type of edit. For one-click jobs there are also background removal (4 credits) and a 2x upscale (3 credits).

Step 3: Create an image from text

To start without a photo, open create images and describe the subject, setting, light and style. Generate, compare the results, then refine the prompt or send the best image back to the editor for a targeted change.

Step 4: Turn a photo into a video

The photo to video flow animates a still image. Describe the motion you want ("slow push-in, hair moving in the wind") and choose a video model. Clips run up to 15 seconds and up to 1080p, depending on the model. A useful pattern is to fix the still first (background, light, clean-up) and animate the finished image.

Credits and pricing

Every generation spends credits. Paid plans add credits each month:

PlanMonthly priceCredits per month
Starter$191,000
Pro$494,000
Premium$9910,000
Ultra$19920,000

Annual billing costs 10 times the monthly price: $190, $490, $990 and $1,990 a year. Prices are in USD and exclude tax. Unused subscription credits roll over, and credit packs (500 credits for $15, 1,000 for $21) never expire.

To put the credits in context: on Starter, a Muse Image edit uses 2 of your 1,000 monthly credits, about $0.04 of the plan price. A Nano Banana 2.1 edit at 1K uses 9 credits, so Starter covers roughly 111 of them. A 5-second Kling O3 Pro clip without audio uses 85 credits.

Paid plans for AI Media Studio start at $19/month.

You can cancel anytime and keep access until the end of the billing period. Refunds are available only if nothing has been generated.

Who owns the results

All paid plans include a commercial license, and you keep full rights to what you create. Downloads have no watermark. Check the terms for the exact wording.

For teams and developers

  • Workspaces. Invite teammates as members, admins or owners and keep media in a shared workspace.
  • API. The public API (v1) covers images, videos, models and uploads with scoped API keys.
  • CLI, MCP and agent skills. Generate from a terminal with @ai-media-studio/cli, or from Claude, Cursor and other MCP clients with @ai-media-studio/mcp. Agent skills are published as liebhardt-io/aims-agent.

The developers page has install commands and examples. All plans share the same rate limit: 60 images and 20 videos per 10 minutes.

Tips for better results

  1. Name what must stay the same. The keep line protects faces, products and text.
  2. Change one thing at a time. Several small edits beat one long prompt.
  3. Match the model to the job. Try Muse Image for simple, low-cost edits, Nano Banana 2.1 for everyday edits, and GPT Image 2.5 when text or logos matter.
  4. Always compare. AI edits can alter details you asked to keep, so check before you download.
